Mary France

Mary France, 76, passed away Sunday, January 10th 2016. Memorial visitation will be Sunday, January 17th, 2016 from 3-5 p.m. at Elmwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 5750 US-277.

Mary was born June 28, 1939, in Coleman County to William Alonzo Billings and Golda Matty Hardy. She was a 1957 graduate of Abilene High School. After graduation Mary moved to New York where she lived and worked for many years. Mary returned to Abilene in the early 70's and worked alongside her mother in the New Professional Building for one of the local general surgeons. Mary was co-owner of the Punkin Patch Daycare Center for many years and also worked for Disability Resources.

Mary is survived by her son, Tony France of Abilene, two grandchildren, Taylor France and Christian France of Abilene, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary always looked for the good in others and treasured time spent with family.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Betty Billings May.
