Mary Ann Handy, 65, passed away Thursday, November 14th, 2013 at her home in Clyde surrounded by family and friends. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 19th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with interment following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Mary was one of two girls born on September 14, 1948 to Robert Lee Moore and Lila Mae Rumbo Moore, her twin sister was named Martha. She grew up in Abilene and in 1967 invited a young airman named Ralph Handy to have Thanksgiving dinner with her family. They were married on February 2, 1968 and have enjoyed 45 years of adventure together. Over the years, Mary has worked for CG Conn, Texas Instruments, First Baptist Church in Baird, was a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, and was currently employed as a membership clerk for HCSCFederal Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. She enjoyed quilting, needlepoint, bowling and had played softball while working for Texas Instruments. She was a Catholic.

Survivors include her husband Ralph of Clyde her daughters, Katherine Handy of Abilene and Laura Lanier of Ovalo her grandchildren, Colton Lanier of Clyde and Amanda Drakes of Rockwood, Tennessee great grandchildren, Breanna and Joseph Drakes her twin sister, Martha Davis of Clyde sistersinlaw, Mary McCartney of Windsor, Colorado, Rosanna Vrelend of Missoula, Montana and Gina Handy of Taos, New Mexico several nieces and nephews, including, Robert Boyd and wife Lorie and Kevin Carlisle and wife Pam.
