Mary Sue King Havins passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Elmwood Funeral Home , 5750 Hwy 277 South.
Mary Sue was born July 2, 1933 in Celina, Texas to Tracy and Dorothy King, the 7th of 8 children. She attended Celina High School and moved to Abilene in 1966. She married Delton Havins on November 27, 1974. A thoughtful caregiver throughout her life, she worked as an LVN in the Abilene area for over 20 years and retired from MHMR in 1993. She was a devoted landscaper in her yard and loved being outside and around family. She was known to be spontaneous and had a smile and personality that would light up a room. She attended Epworth Methodist Church.
Mary Sue is survived by her husband, Delton James Havins of Abilene one brother, Monroe King of McKinney one daughter, Donna Sue Ramirez and husband, Fred of Snyder three sons, Terry Richardson of Fort Worth, Les Havins and wife Lori of Burleson, and Larry Havins and wife Janice of Wasilla, Alaska and the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Timothy Tijerina and wife Megan of Abilene, Crystal Tijerina of Fort Worth, Fernando Ramirez of Snyder, Terron and Whitley Havins of Burleson, Jennifer and Jeremy Havins of Wasilla, AK and Justin Havins of Tucson, AZ, 7 greatgrandchildren, Angel, Alexis, Dave, and Devin Tijerina of Abilene, and Luke, Alina, and Aliza Garcia of Fort Worth, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Sue Cribby was preceded in death by her parents 3 sisters, Faye Sister Riggs, Jeanette Brucie Carrier, and Millie Toast Lee and 3 brothers, Joe King, Bob Cabin King, and Bill King.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Abilene Meals on Wheels or the charity of choice.
