Mary Elizibeth Franklin Hughes, age 74, of Abilene, TX went home to be with the Lord at Hendrick Hospice Care on the 17th of August.
Mary was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 4, 1942 to Jessie May Coleman and Ferdinand Flood Butler. Mary will forever be remembered for the loving mother and wife who filled family and friends alike with grace and love. She spent a number of years as a Mary Kay Consultant. Mary was known to many as the sweet lady who worked at Lantrips' Convenience store.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don Hughes, her three brothers, and one niece.
She is survived by Shawuntee Brown, Maurita Jenkins, Michele Simmons and husband Victor, Roberta Wilmoth and husband Tom and Son Macieo Franklin, 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, one sister, Vivian Loretta Fletcher, and many friends and loved ones.
Visitation for Mary Hughes will be Monday, August 21st, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 S. Abilene, Texas. Services will be Tuesday, August 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Deliverance Church, 5501 Hwy 277 S. Abilene, Texas. Following services there will be a burial at Elmwood Memorial Park.
