Mary Woods

Mary Lynn Woods, 74, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 in Ft Worth. Visitation will be 12 Noon till 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mary was born in Abilene, TX on November 5, 1942 to parents, D. H. and Vada Burleson Zimmerman. She graduated from Abilene High School and attended Vaughn's Business School. She married Ralph Woods and they lived and started their family in Abilene. Later she became a CNA and worked for Abilene State School for many years. She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, studying the Bible, Reading, and watching old movies.

She is survived by her son, David Woods of Abilene; daughter, Wendy Hall and husband Thomas of Ft. Worth; and son, Brad Woods and wife Stacie of Joshua, TX; seven grandchildren, Jason Simpler and Fiancé Lea Golden, Stephanie Woods, Ashley Woods and husband Prather Roberts, Zackery Woods, Faith Woods, Nichalos Woods, and Hope Woods; one great-grandchild, Adalynn Roberts; and several cousins and other family members.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and her special Rat Terrier, Babbit.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donation in Mary's honor to Rescue the Animals, SPCA.
