Maurice "Bill" Daniel, 88, of Abilene passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Abilene

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 10 AM at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W. Lake Road, Abilene, TX 79601. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Bill was born on May 20, 1930 in McAllen, TX to the late James Daniel and Helen Peeck Daniel. After High School, Bill enlisted in The Air Force. In the Air Force, Bill served in both The Korean and The Vietnam wars. On August 26th, 1965, Bill married Patsy Taylor in Abilene. Bill retired from the Air Force and went to work for the Department of Public Safety. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Daniel; 2 sons, Derek Daniel and wife Susan, David Daniel and wife Michelle; daughter, Diana Donato and husband Phil; 6 grandchildren, Mathew Daniel, Sara Daniel, Brittany Gurganus and husband Brandon; Erricka Daniel, P.J. Donato and Jamie Bowling; great grandson Braddock.

Bill was also preceded in death by his brother Walter Daniel.
