Maurice Gerloff

Maurice Gerloff passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Abilene. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1202 S. Pioneer Drive with Don Heller, Parish Lay Minister officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 7:00 PM, Monday, August 15, 2011 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
Maurice was born September 26, 1919 in Lueders, TX where she attended school and graduated with honors. Soon after graduation she moved to Stamford to work until she married Raymond Ray Gerloff. They soon moved to Tulia, TX where they both had good jobs and after five years were transferred to Abilene. Maurice went to work for Thorntons in River Oaks Shopping Center where she worked for twentyeight years and was awarded the Pampered Public Salesperson of the Month Certificate of Merit in February of 1972 by the Abilene Chamber of Commerce. She joined Grace Lutheran Church in 1955 where she was always a dedicated member.
Maurice was preceded in death by her husband her parents three sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by one niece, Carolyn Thompson and husband Phill of Clifton, TX two nephews, Randy Petterson and wife Kathy of Sanger, TX., and Ronnie Gerloff four great nieces and nephews, Michael Bowers, Jon Bowers, Robyn Mayfield, and Erin Petterson two sistersinlaw, Thelma Gerloff, and Juanita Gerloff two special friends, Garry and Delores Borg and several cousins and great great nieces and nephews.
