Max Overman

December 3, 1937 — February 6, 2013

Max Dwain Overman died peacefully in his home at 8101 Sidlaw Hills Terr, Chesterfield, VA 23838, surrounded by his loved ones on February 6, 2013,
after a short battle with lung cancer.

Max was born in Wilmeth, Texas to Herman and Lucille Overman on 12337.
He was a 1955 graduate of Abilene High School and he attended McMurray
College, before becoming employed at Key City Electric in August of 1957.
Max became a partner in Key City Electric with Bob Gill in 1977 and full owner in 1986. He married the love of his life, Paula Smith, on August 16, 1958. Max loved playing golf at the Abilene Country Club with his buddies. He had a ministry of making and sharing wooden clutch crosses while living in Virginia. He was a man of integrity, courage, strength, and had a strong faith in Jesus Christ.

His father, Herman Overman, his mother Lucille Overman and his brother Dan Overman preceded him in death.

Max is survived by his wife, Paula Smith Overman his three children, Melinda Willis and husband Ricky Willis of Abilene, Amy Elliott and husband Jeff Elliott of Chesterfield, VA. , and Vic Overman seven grandchildren, Caitlin Boyle and husband TJ, Hannah Willis and fianc David Bryant, Max and Saundra Elliott, Molly Elliott Willmarth and Cody, Chelsea and Thomas Overman. four great grandchildren, Liam Boyle, Mya and Cash Thompson, and Cassidy Willmarth.

Pallbearers will be Bob Gill, Tommy Estes, Charlie Brown, Bobby Dusek,
Marvin Lorenz, Royce Heller, and Jeff Goodin.

Honorary Pallbearers are his golfing buddies that preceded in death before him.
Ira Clayton, and Irv Townsend.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 12 from 5:007:30 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.

His memorial service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, February 13th at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, 701 S. Pioneer Dr. in Abilene, officiated by Dr. Jess Fletcher and Pastor Stan Allcorn. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
