Maxie was born July 05, 1944 in La Sierrita, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Encarnacion Torres Sena and Maria del Refugio Garcia. She was a devout and faithful member of a Spanish congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses in Abilene. She genuinely enjoyed sharing her faith with others and did so as much as she could despite her illness and physical impairment.
To friends and family, Maxie was known for her loving and kind ways. She always chose to see the good in people and had an exceptionally positive attitude about life despite her troubles. Spending time with her grown children brought her much happiness, but her greatest joy was seeing her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren whom she had a special love for.
She and her husband were 31 year residents of Abilene, Texas. They moved from Mercedes, TX in June 1981. Housekeeping was one of her best skills and she put those to use working for various hotels in her earlier years in Abilene. She later worked in private homes for several families until her health began slowing her down in 1996. From then on, she spent most of her time at home dealing with her illness and living life as best as she could. She did so alongside her husband and her loyal son and closest companion, Alejandro Alex, who was instrumental in her care up until her passing.
Maxie was preceded in death by her parents, Encarnacion and Maria Sena and sisters Dora Molina and Paula Rodriguez.
Maxie is survived by her husband Reynaldo Rey Samilpa, Sr. five children, son, Jose Bueron and wife Nelly, son, Alejandro Navarro, daughter, Norma Benavidez and husband Tony, daughter, Nora Rodgers and husband Tyler, son, Reynaldo Samilpa, Jr. and wife Debbie.
