Maxine Jamison Smith, 81, of Clyde passed away Tuesday May 20, 2014 in Abilene.
Funeral services will be held Friday May 23, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church, Clyde, TX with Dr. Toby Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, Abilene, TX. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
Maxine was born on December 29, 1932 to the late George W. Herridge and Clara Ann DeLone in Concho, TX. She was married to John Samuel Jamison and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2003 after 54 years together. Maxine married Cleon Smith on May 17, 2003 in Clyde, TX and they enjoyed 11 years together. She worked as a department manager for Sears and Sams, and retired from them both.
Maxine was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Clyde, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and served many years as a volunteer for the Childrens Miracle Network.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Cleon Smith of Clyde children, Dan Leamy and wife Susan of Abilene, LoAnn Leamy of Baird, Brenda Sherrill of the metroplex, Kila Fahr of Bend, Oregon grandchildren, Tommy Leamy, Lesley Robb and husband Todd, Nathan Sherrill, Aaron Holderfield, Ian Fahr, Elonay Fahr greatgrandchild, Mackenzie Singleton brother, Frank Herridge sister, Vivian Chrestensen numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
