Michael Lynn Miller, 65, of Abilene, Texas, was called to be with his Lord on June 17, 2016. He was a member of Countryside Baptist Church in Merkel, Texas.
Michael was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Cleo and Gaylor Miller on August 1, 1950. He married his wife, Pam, on April 10 in 1981. After serving in the Air Force, Michael enjoyed careers in the medical industry at West Texas Medical Center, ARMC, Abilene Diagnostic Clinic and with Cardiology Consultants. Later in life, Michael had the opportunity to switch careers and share his love of cooking with residents and visitors of Royal Estates and at Wesley Court, where he retired as head chef.
Michael had a great love of the outdoors and for working with his hands. In his retirement, he was happiest working his family farm where he gardened, tinkered, and raised chickens and ducks.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Gaylor Miller.
Michael is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pamela Brock Miller, and by his three sons, David and Britt of Lubbock, Texas, Chris and Tracy of Austin, Texas, and Mike, Jr., of Abilene, Texas, and by his mother, Cleo Hallford Miller, as well as seven grandchildren, Lucas Callen, Madison Miller, Nicholas Callen, Ashlyn Miller, Christopher "CJ" Miller, Jaden Miller, and Madyson Nacole, and by countless nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2016, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South in Abilene, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Center at stjude.org.
