Michele Dawn Reeder, 51, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Michele's vibrant personality and zest for life will be honored and remembered at a visitation on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at the Elmwood Funeral Home’s Family Center, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.
Michele was born on September 30, 1972, in Abilene, Texas, where she grew up and attended Cooper High School. Known for lighting up any room she entered, Michele lived life to the fullest and brought boundless energy to all she did. She had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors, spending her time gardening, working in the yard, and swimming. She also enjoyed star gazing and the moon.
A true caregiver, Michele loved everyone around her with a kind and giving spirit. She was a hard worker, always dedicated to completing every task with care and precision. Among her family, she was affectionately known for her special way of doing dishes, always using SOS pads, a tradition she passed down to others.
Michele was not a fan of dirty windows or mirrors, crinkled dollar bills, and wrinkled bed sheets. She had a special fondness for the moment the clock struck 11:11.
Above all, Michele was a cherished daughter, devoted wife, loving mother, beloved "Mimi," sister, and aunt. Her warmth, love, and presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by all her grandparents.
Michele is survived by her husband, Marty Dunlap; her mother and father, Dana and Will Otto; her children, Chance Boyd (Cecelia), Chelsie Boyd (Adan), and Cherish Boyd (Roderick); her grandchildren, Sunshine, Ozlynn, Olivia, Lilah, Jackson, Claire, and Zyir; her brothers, Shane Reeder (Joanna), and Charlie Otto; her nieces and nephews, Christian, Austin, Lexi, Jadrian, Corbin, and Braden; bonus daughter, Jamie Brown; and her fur baby, Roxie.
The family asks that you come comfortable as Michele would want you to be.
