With heavy hearts and thankful spirits, we rejoice in the knowledge that our beloved mother and cherished Gran Mil has finished the race, received her reward and will victoriously live for eternity in the glory of the Lord.
Born August 28, 1922 in Young, Arizona to Sonley and Hattie Perle Huestis Clark, Mil and her family moved to Cisco, Texas, where she grew up with her two sisters, Mary and Mercie. She married Mason Griggs Gamble in 1942 and was happily married for 58 years until Masons death in October 2000. She and Mason resided in Abilene where they attended University Church of Christ and owned and operated Mason Gamble Motors for 40 years.
Mil loved to have fun and made sure everyone she met was having fun as well. She had a vivid imagination and was always ready for the next adventure Mil was always full of joy and never met a stranger. She loved to sing, laugh, and spend time with her loved ones. She was an excellent and entertaining hostess and loved to celebrate holidays and special occasions with the ones she loved. Her greatest earthly joy was sharing life and laughter with family and friends, whether it was at the cabin at Lake Cisco or in her own backyard.
Mildred is survived by her son Guy and wife Lesa, granddaughter Lacey Casey and husband Brian, and grandson Chance Gamble, all of Abilene. And many adored nephews, nieces, cousins, and lifelong friends, including her treasured Supper Club.
