Myrtle Stone

April 28, 1915 — February 24, 2014

Myrtle W. Stone, 98, died at 7:00pm Tuesday, February 24, 2014 at Hendrick Hospital in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be 6:00 till 7:30 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Graveside funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, February 28, 2014 at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Myrtle was born April 28, 1915 in Stephenville, TX to parents, Walter H. and Cordelia Brown Waters. She attended Abilene High School and in 1936 married J. Allyn Stone. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she was a very dedicated member. She was also a member of the Florida Power Club, where she loved to dance and play bingo. She spent three years volunteering as a Girl Scout leader when her daughter was younger.Every summer she enjoyed traveling by car with her family and visiting relatives in Florida, Texas, Colorado and New Mexico.
Myrtle enjoyed spending her time making seashell jewelry, doing decoupage, and researching genealogy. She was a fantastic mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved her family very much.
She is survived by her son, Michael O. Stone M.D. and wife, Linda of Nashua, NH daughter, Cherry E. Stone of Abilene, TX granddaughter, Pamala A. Ward of Clearwater, FL grandson, Allyn O. Stone of St. Petersburg, FL great grandson Robert M. Ward of Clearwater, FL.
