Nadine Griggs

Ruby Nadine Griggs passed away April 11, 2014 after a long illness. She longed to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She was born January 28, 1932 in Snyder, Texas to the late John B. Wishert and Ilene Wishert.

She married Bill Griggs, Sr. on July 17, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Lovington, New Mexico. They were married for 55 years before his death in 2005. Together they worked as a team throughout their marriage on various oil, gas farming ventures. Bill Nadine retired in 1996 and moved to Abilene, Texas to be near their son Billie, Jr.

Nadine Bill, Sr. were members of Wylie Baptist Church and the Adult One Sunday School Class. Nadines hope was always in the Lord was an avid reader of the Bible and Christian Books. Her favorite saying was, Hope On.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Ilene Wishert a beloved husband Bill, Sr. a son, James Lee his wife Brenda a sister Oleta a brother Joe nephew Gary Lee and a granddaughter Kendra.

She is survived by her son, Billie Griggs, Jr. wife Linda of Abilene, TX Grandsons Justin Griggs wife Misty of Mertzon, TX Jonas Griggs wife Kelley of Rockwall, TX Chad Frymire wife Monica of Dallas, TX Craig Griggs wife Connie of McCamey, TX Granddaughter Brooke Griggs of Atlanta, GA Nephew Bobby Hopkins wife Pat of Colorado Springs, CO Great Grandchildren Ashley, Billie III, Bella, Tate, Blakely, Libby Charlotte Greatnephews Jason Hopkins of Huntsville, AL Jeff Hopkins of Colorado Springs, CO very special friends Rosie, Fred Tommy Price of Abilene, TX.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Dr. Keith Robinson, her devoted caring doctor of many years. He truly has been a God send to her our family.

Services will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home, Monday, April 14 at 10:00 am 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX. Brother Donny Harbers, pastor of Wylie Baptist Church, will be officiating.
