Nancy Ann Martin Harp of Abilene passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She was 86 years old. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on April 2, 2021, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Hodges Baptist Church, 13933 Co Rd 495, Hodges, Texas with Pastor Keith Clifton officiating and under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home. Burial will be at Midway Cemetery, Hodges, Texas.
Nancy was born on August 31, 1934, in Seymour, Texas to Jesse Rufus Martin and Ora (Cockrell) Martin. Nancy moved to Abilene in 1959 where she met and married her husband DeVerel L. Harp on October 15, 1960. They enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching the hummingbirds and listening to the wind chimes. The couple enjoyed touring the United States in their RV, visiting every state but Alaska. They enjoyed many RV trips with their good friends Johnnie and Jerrel Woodard. They spent many weekends at the lake camping, boating, skiing, cooking out, and enjoying family time.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her four sisters.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, DeVerel Harp; her three children, Debi Cerny and husband Roger, Rick Harp and wife Starlet, and Deann Webb and husband James; her grandchildren, Chrissy, Brandi, Adam, Kelly, Sara, and Dakota; and her five great grandchildren.
In honor of Nancy, donations may be made to the Hodges Baptist Church.
