Natividad Lopez, 80, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 PM with Prayer Service beginning at 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 20th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 21st at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, 2525 Westview with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lopez was born in Hobbs, TX on December 13, 1928 and grew up in Aspermont. She married George B. Lopez and they came to Abilene in 1966. Family was the center of her life and she enjoyed caring for those around her. She especially loved cooking for others. Mrs. Lopez was a member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Oscar Lopez Janie of Tyler, Alfred Lopez of Lubbock, and Larry Lopez of Abilene; four daughters, Stella Gonzales, Vickie Cortinaz Paul, Becky Gregory, and Teresa Lopez John Scott all of Abilene; one brother, Raymond Medrano of Odessa; two sisters, Pauline Gonzales of Stamford and Ruth Gonzales of Odessa; 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Her husband, a son, David Lopez, a daughter, Olga Studer, 2 sisters and 3 brothers preceded her in death.
