Neoma Whitaker

Neoma Whitaker, 89, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 30, 2015 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Neoma was born March 11, 1926 in Oklahoma to Chester and Nora Goodwin. She worked at Wyatt's Cafeteria, Abilene Woman's Club, and Texas Instruments for Greyhound foods. She was an amazing woman who loved to cook, especially peach cobbler, liked reading and watching "The Voice" on TV. She was a member of Texas Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by her four children, Curtis Turner, Bobbie Whitaker, Brenda Tucker, and Randall Whitaker; Eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Vicki Collins; and one grandson, Erick Whitaker; sisters, Bobbie Lowe, Opal Schmitz, and Lois Bonds.
