Norma Bush

Norma Jeanne Bush, 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in Abilene. Her wishes were to be cremated and her cremains will be buried next to her husband in the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.

Jeanne was born on August 2, 1925 in Evans Landing, Indiana the daughter of Herman Kelly and Hilda McRaye Kelly. She attended Hanover College in Kentucky where she met and married Major Hully Hershel Bush. Following her husband in his military career later took her to San Antonio where she worked 29 years in Civil Service at Fort Sam Houston Army Base as a military pay supervisor. After retirement she lived several years in Las Vegas, Nevada and came to Abilene in 1996. While in Abilene, she has been a volunteer at both Hendrick Medical Center and Abilene Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Broadview Baptist Church.

Jeanne was a very social person, loved being around people and was known to have a feisty spirit. She will be truly missed.

Survivors include her children, Kelly Michael Davis and wife Nikki of Abilene, Rose Davis of Los Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren, Kristen, Spencer, and Mollie; her extended family, Alice Gooden and her children, Bekah and Travis, and Nancy Reed all of San Antonio.

Her parents, a sister, Evelyn Forrester, husbands, Major Hully Bush and James H. Davis and dear friend Thomas Brown preceded her in death.
