Norma Sue Williams, 73, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 in Abilene. Her funeral service with Pastor Oran Rake officiating will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 3rd in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Sue was born on May 26, 1937 in the Cedar Gap Community the daughter of L.D. Hickman and Byrdia Franklin Hickman. She has lived in the Abilene area most of her life with the exception of 13 years she spent in Tucumcari, New Mexico. She worked several years at Bills Burgers and later at Deans Restaurant and Tucumcari Inn. She had a strong faith and was an active member of Crossway Baptist Church.
Sue loved and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She was blessed with a gift for growing things and always had a beautiful garden and yard.
Survivors include her children, Becky Davison and husband Phil of Abilene, Laura Dankworth and husband Greg of Amarillo and Randy Williams of Abilene 8 grandchildren, Mark Davison and wife Kim, Brooke Hearon and husband Jason, Krissy Dankworth, Kyla Dodgin and husband Dustin, Orrin Dankworth, David Williams and wife Lauren and J.D. Doty and husband Mitchell 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of special friends including Penny Dick of Abilene and lifelong heart friend, Rita Holland of Doniphan, Missouri.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ralph Heaven and the staff of Hendrick Hospice Care for all their tender loving care.
