Norman Gale Orr, 74, passed away in the early morning hours on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Abilene Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, officiated by Reverend Derrell Patterson. Visitation will be on Friday, January 1, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Elmwood Funeral Home.brbrNorman was born April 29, 1935 in Anton, Texas to Wesley and Anise Orr. He was a graduate of Texas AM University with a Master degree in Psychology. He retired in 1998 from the State of Texas rehabilitation services program. He loved riding his motorcycle and spending time with his wife Rila.brbrNorman is survived by his wife, Rila Orr; two daughters, Cindy Hoogendoorn and Val Sanders; one step-daughter, Dana Simpson; seven grandchildren, Keith Oatman, Beth Beal, Sarah Hoogendoorn, Sheena Simpson, Sabra Simpson, Bryan Hoogendoorn, and Chase Sanders; four great grandchildren, Robbie and Paul Oatman, Noah and Jaxon Potter; one sister, Alice Faye Orr; cousins, Carolyn Siebold, Kalani Siebold, Wayne Tiner, Janice Tiner, and Asi Williamson; special uncle and aunt, James and Opal Spencer.brbrWe all think Norman Gale Orr was one of the greatest of the great.
