Ofilia Ibarra Rodriguez, 85, of Abilene, TX passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 2:00 PM at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, 2525 Westview Drive, Abilene, Texas. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene.

Ofilia was born on January 29, 1936, in Sonora, Texas, to the late Miguel Ibarra and Rosario Chico Ibarra. She married Felipe C. Rodriguez, Jr., on February 28, 1959 at St Ann's Catholic Church in Sonora, Texas. She was an incredible mom and devoted wife. Ofilia was always busy cooking or cleaning the house that was always full of children and visitors. There was not a time when she wasn't busy with her children or attending their activities. Ofilia was one of the founders and member of St Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church where she was a longtime certified catechist and instructor, a member of the choir and she was the first Eucharistic Minister. She was an excellent cook and made the best tortillas. She was a small but mighty woman who loved her family fiercely, as she never hesitated to defend them. Ofilia did not reserve her love and care for family only, she served many children as a foster parent.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Miguel Ibarra and Juan Ibarra.

Ofilia is survived by her husband, Felipe, and their children, Felipe M. "Ditto" Rodriguez (Linda Aldrich), Robert "Bobby" Rodriguez, Maria Del Rosario "Rosie" Powdrill, John G. "Johnny" Rodriguez (Monica), Teresa "Terri" Anderson (Dennis), Elizabeth A. "Lisa" Rodriguez, Paul P. Rodriguez (Lisa Marie) and Andrew S. "Paco" Rodriguez; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Oralia "Lala" Sentena, Dolores "Loli" Bouhassis, Edwina "Duvi" Flores and husband Edelmiro, and Joyce Jimenez and husband Juan.

Ofilia's family is grateful to the trustworthy, caring, and attentive staff at Hendrick Hospice and Hendrick Dialysis Center, they both cared for her with such compassion. In

lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to St Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, 2525 Westview Drive, Abilene, Texas, 79603.
