Oneta Horrell

Oneta Joye Horrell, 67, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Merkel. Visitation for family and friends will be today from 4 till 6 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Graveside funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, April 23, 2012 at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Joye was born April 25, 1945 in Abilene, TX to Cliff and Ruth Ross. She attended Hamby Elementary and Hawley High School. On June 8, 1961 she married Jimmy E. Horrell in Abilene. She was a member of North Park Baptist Church, loved gardening, and traveling in their RV.
Joye was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Tiney Breeden father, Clifton Ross Sr. brother, Clifton Junior Ross Jr.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Ross of Clyde her husband, Jimmy Horrell, Sr. one daughter, Angela Huff and husband Wayne of Merkel two sons, Jim Horrell, Jr. and wife Donna of Copperas Cove, Jeff Horrell and wife Davina of Copperas Cove seven grandchildren nine greatgrandchildren, one sister, Sue Byrd of Abilene and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Hendrick Hospice, 1682 Hickory Street, Abilene, TX 79601 in Joyes honor.
