Ora Lynn

Ora Lee (Reed) Lynn, 82 of Abilene, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 with her daughters by her side, Ora was born on February 29, 1940 in Abilene, Texas to Johnny Harold Reed, Sr. and Maggie James Reed.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 10:00am at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be Friday July 29, 2022 from 5:00pm -7:00pm at Elmwood Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Abilene City Cemetery.

Ora attended Woodson Public Schools in Abilene, Texas after which she went on to work for the State of Texas (state school) where she retired after 26 ½ years of service.

Ora obeyed the Gospel at a young age, she attended Treadaway Church of Christ for many years and was currently an active member of the 5th & Grape St. Church of Christ until her passing.

Ora was married to Eugene Lynn on April 14, 1967 to that union they raised seven children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Maggie Reed, husband, Eugene Lynn, daughter, Harriett Ross, brothers; Artie Lee Reed, Ernest Reed, Johnny Harold Reed, Jr., Quincy Reed and Ronnie Reed, sisters; Johnnie Mae Phillips and Earma Dell Griffin.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sister Goldia Ann Owens of Titusville, FL; four daughters, Brenda Starks of San Antonio, TX; LaDonna Owens-Lewis, Lisa Placide and Sharon Lynn, all of Abilene TX; two sons, Cedric Reed (Kim) of Belleville, IL and Fredrick Starks (Karen) of San Antonio, TX; twenty grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
