Oscar Big O Garcia, 31, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 in Abilene. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, 1333 N. 3rd in Abilene with interment following in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.
Oscar was born in Abilene on April 28, 1981 and attended Abilene High School. He was currently a Concrete Lead Man at Concrete Creations in Abilene.
Big O was full of life and laughter and loved to host cook outs for family and friends. He was a loyal son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend who always supported everyone around him by attending everything they were involved in especially the sporting events of his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife, Merina Carreo his children, Oscar Garcia Jr, Breanna S. Garcia, Mason Garcia, Eric Garcia and Noe Garcia his parents, Victor and Teresa Garcia his brother, Victor Garcia and wife Lucinda of Abilene his sisters, Daphne Garcia, Linda Garcia, Cindy Garcia and husband Sheldon all of Abilene his nieces and nephews, Caitlyn Rodriguez, Matthew Garcia, Miyah Garcia, Greyson Garcia, Chris Rangel, Brayden Henry and Cash Henry his grandmother, Dominga Rosales and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
His grandparents, Ysidro Rosales, Martin Garcia, and Anselma Garcia, uncles, Pete Acosta, Tony Garcia, and Aben Rosales, and aunts, Linda Escobedo and Tammie Mitzel Rosales preceded him in death.
Pallbearers for the service will be Victor Garcia Jr., Sheldon Henry, Martin R. Garcia, Adrian Barnes, Roy Hernandez Jr., and Pete Escobedo Jr. Honorary pallbearers are, Devante Hunter, Jeff Smith and Jacob Garcia.
