Osvaldo “Ozzie” Garcia, 26, passed away on January 2, 2020. He was born on October 24, 1993 in Sylmar, California to parents, Severo and Marta Salas Garcia. The family relocated to Abilene when Ozzie was just two years old. He attended Craig Middle School and graduated from Abilene High School in 2012, while at Abilene High he was four-year varsity letterman in Gymnastics. After high school he attended UTI in Houston where he graduated in 2014 as a diesel mechanic. He returned to Abilene where he worked for Star Dodge and then for Lonestar Trucking where he was currently employed.
He enjoyed reading, especially the Harry Potter series and hanging out with his friends, but his favorite thing was spending time with his family. He loved his nieces and nephews and loved to take them out to “just goof off”.
He is survived by his parents, Severo and Marta Garcia; two brothers, Alonso Garcia and wife Asusena; and Ricardo Garcia and wife Blanca; paternal grandmother, Graciela Esparza; paternal grandfather, Angel Garcia; maternal grandfather, Calletano Salas; nieces and nephews, Aaron Arroyo, Annette and Aracely Garcia, Alonso Garcia Jr., and Yazmin Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Maria Cruz Esparza.
