Patricia Brown

Patricia Jane Pat Weiss Brown, 77, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 in Abilene. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 7th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with burial following in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Pat was born on March 13, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri where she grew up and graduated from Southwest High School in 1952. She received her BA in Speech Therapy from Southern Illinois University in 1956. Pat married Bennie Radford Brown on June 25, 1960 in Frederick, Maryland and they traveled and lived all over the world as Bennie served 20 years with the U.S. Navy. Pat has been a resident of Abilene since 1974 and she enjoyed gardening and reading.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Bennie Brown of Abilene and one son, Gregory Ben Brown of Abilene.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archa Weiss and Evelyn Fraser Weiss Cannon and her stepfather, AJ Cannon.
