Patricia Henson

Patricia Patty Henson, 74, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in Merkel. Graveside funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Henson Family Cemetery located at 1329 Hwy 8384 on the Henson Ranch. Services are under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
Patty was born December 5, 1938 in Abilene to Roma and Mary Whetsel. She graduated from Abilene High. After graduation she became a LVN and worked as a nurse in Abilene for many years. In 1963 she married Melvin Henson and together they owned and operated Mexico Imports on Ambler Ave. She was very active in the restoration of antique cars, enjoyed traveling especially going to Las Vegas, and loved playing bingo.
She is survived by her sister, Laquita Yancy stepsons, Artie Henson, Maxey Henson stepdaughters, Cindy Henson, Melva Pack and husband Ray several grandchildren several nieces and nephews.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin three brothers, Preston, Clell, Jerry Whetsel one sister, Juanita Whetsel Bullard parents, Roma and Mary Whetsel
