Patsy Batson

Patsy "Darlene" Batson went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2022, with family by her side. Darlene, age 84, was born on March 13, 1938, in Abilene, Texas. Affectionately known by her favorite people as 'Mema,' she proudly boasted five grandchildren, their spouses, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Darlene and her husband, Frank, were members of North Park Baptist Church, where they were married in 1956. Darlene graduated from Abilene High in 1956, and was employed by AISD for thirty-three years until her retirement in 2000. Darlene loved her family dearly and her favorite thing was when everyone was gathered together.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank; her daughter, Debbie; brother, Larry; brother-in law, C.V., sister in-law, Micki; grandkids, Zach and his wife, Sarah; Jordan and his wife, Jill; Tyler, and his wife, Brooke; Kelsey and her husband, Ronnie; McKenzie and her husband, Junior; great-grandkids: Camden, Powell, Molly, Maxie, Maggie, Alli, Grayson, Carter, Sydney Kate, Tripp, Hattie, Luna, Cruz; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kathy; parents, Clyde and Jewel; twin brother, Eugene; sister, Dana; son-in-law, Tony.

The family wishes to thank the Northern Oaks Nursing Home for their care of her over the last two years; Hendrick Medical Center- North and Hendrick Hospice Care for the wonderful care she was given in her last days.

If desired, the family would like contributions to be made to North Park Baptist Church in lieu of flowers. A graveside service will be held Monday, November 28 at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Memorial Park.
