Paul Gaines

Paul Moore Gaines, 45, of Abilene, Texas, passed from this life at the Hendricks Hospital, January 14, 2015 after a sudden illness. Paul was born December 16, 1969 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Sentinel High School, Missoula Montana in 1988 where he participated in Choir and Marching Band. He later received his Bachelors from ITT in electronics; going on to serve honorably in the United States Navy as a Sonar Technician on the nuclear Submarine USS Birmingham during the Bosnian war.
Paul worked for exploration companies as an electronics technician and commercial truck driver in the USA, Canada and Kuwait during the Iraq War.

Paul is Survived by: paternal grandmother Lois Moore Pettijohn, Brownwood, Texas; maternal grandmother Betty Gordon, Oceanside, California; parents Pastor Ron and Bonnie Moore, Stephenville Texas; Sisters Cheri Leggett and husband Ray, Skagway, AK; Yvonne Mauldin and husband Brad, Fort Worth, Texas, Brother Ronnie Moore and wife Andrea, Friendswood, Texas; three nieces; seven nephews; numerous aunts, uncle, and cousins and a host of friends.

Raised by parents Pastor Ron and Bonnie Moore, Paul continued to be active in choir, audio-visual;. cantata, drama, youth and singles ministries. Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church, Abilene. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to First Baptist Church, Good Cheer Ministry, 1333 North 3rd Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 23rd at First Baptist, Abilene, Texas. Pastor C.V. Blake will officiate. Paul will be laid to rest at the Texas State Veterans's Cemetery in Abilene.
