Paul Milton Williams, 84, of Abilene, passed away peacefully at his home with his daughter, Sherrie and her husband Joseph by his side with the support of his daughter Paula Davis from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Born in Alba, Texas, he moved to Abilene in 1951 and joined the Navy in 1952 serving until 1956. Paul was a well-known brick layer helping build many homes and businesses in Abilene and throughout Texas, including Hendrick Hospital.
He was a long standing member of the American Legion serving as Post Commander and Bar Manager for many years at post 57 in Abilene, TX.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Elkins Williams; his son, James (Jamie) Williams; his grandson, Terry Riley; two sisters, Laura Head and Betty Hickman; his two brothers, Max Williams and David (Dick) Williams; son-in-law, Greg Davis; his parents, Horace Williams and Clydia Mae Remmers.
He is survived by his daughters, Sheryl (Sherrie) Williams Ashmore and husband Joseph Ashmore of Abilene, Paula Williams Davis of Myrtle beach, SC; brother, Bobby Remmers of Abilene, TX; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three step sons, David Elkins, Wayne Elkins, Roger Elkins, and their children and grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
