Peggy Watkins

Peggy D Watkins, 78, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 in Abilene. Visitation will be Monday, October 2, 2017 from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Peggy was born to parents, Roy and Inez Tucker on June 10, 1939 in Clyde, TX. She grew up and attended school in Abilene before meeting and then marrying Ronald Watkins in 1955. She worked at Meads Bakery and Key City Drive Inn before beginning her career with Abilene Casket Company for almost 20 years. She was multi-talented in many areas but her passion was crocheting. Throughout the years she has created many masterpieces for her family to treasure. She was a very giving lady and was considered "the Rock of the Family".
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Watkins Sr.; son, Roger R Watkins Jr. of Abilene; two daughters, DeLinda Campbell and husband, Ricky of Merkel and Tina Ignazitto and husband, Michael of Abilene; six grandchildren, John Collums, Korie Watkins, Jacob Campbell, James Campbell, Nicholas Ignazitto, Seth Wright, Kristen Milsap; and many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Moore, Karen Baird, and Pam Lee; one brother, Ronnie Tucker and wife Carolyn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
