Philip Rister

Philip Samuel Rister, 77, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Tye Cemetery with Stan Allcorn officiating.

Philip was born August 17, 1938 in Abilene, Texas to Samuel Thomas and Ellie Lee Adams Rister. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1957. Philip won the heart of Mary Jones, and the couple was married August 20, 1966. He began serving in the Army National Guard in 1956, receiving the Soldier's Medal, Expert Rifle Medal and Texas Faithful Service Medal. He served as a Platoon Sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1973. He and Mary started Rister Heating and Air Conditioning in 1996, and Philip was highly respected in the industry and by his loyal employees.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two children, Charlotte Christine Rister and Michael Brandon Rister; sisters Jeanette Rister McCoy and Mary Rister Skelton; and one brother, Jimmie Ray Rister. He was preceded in death by his parents.
