Phyllis Kay Corley Wade, 75, of Katy went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2016.
A graveside service will be held Monday, February 1 at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, Texas. Services under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home.
Phyllis was born to Willis and Imogene Corley on May 14, 1940 in Skellytown, Texas. She graduated from Phillips High School in 1958 and will be "forever a Blackhawk." She grew up in the Texas Panhandle, where she met and married Warren Tipton. They had two sons, Lane and Coy Tipton. She moved to Abilene Texas in the mid 80's to be near to her father. On February 14, 2010, she married Jim Wade in Katy Texas and lived there until she passed into glory to be with her faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.
Phyllis was a strong Christian woman. She had a keen wit, an incredible mind, and a wonderful sense humor. She was fiercely devoted to her family, giving of herself and resources in ways that adorned her faith in Christ. Her unique gift was being a mother. She particularly loved her "babies," Lane and
Coy Tipton. Those "babies" soon came to include her six grandchildren: Lance, Lauren, Lyle, Karena, Trevor and Kaitlyn Tipton. Phyllis always expressed the deepest of love for her family and friends. She will be missed by all who came to know and love her.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Jim Wade, and her sons, Lane (Charlene) and Coy (Krista) Tipton and families.
