Priscilla Franklin

Priscilla Kathleen Kathie Franklin, 55, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 in Abilene. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 13th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Kathie was born on September 10, 1953 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Pryor, Oklahoma where she graduated from High School. After attending North Eastern State University, she proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy and later in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves. She had worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for the past 10 years and was a member of the Texas Avenue Baptist Church. Kathie enjoyed crocheting and was always working on an afghan for one of her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

Kathie was loved by everyone who met her and will be forever missed until the end of time by those who were privileged enough to call her daughter, mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her parents, Bill and Barbara Wigington and Richard and Ann Hutchings; sons, Kenneth Franklin and wife Sarah, Mac Franklin and wife Violeta and Richard Franklin; grandchildren, Kolton Franklin, Mac Franklin, Amber Marie, Mia Itzel Franklin and Makayla Franklin; Brothers and Sisters and their families, Jack Wigington, Judy Wakely, Duane Wigington, Ken Mobley, Kevin Hutchings, Randy Underwood, Marie Allen and Patty Hutching; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Her sister, Diane Underwood preceded her in death.

Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 209 S. Danville DR, Abilene, Texas 79605.
