Quincy Roller of Georgetown,TX passed away Monday, Oct.23, 2017 at Rocky Hollow Lake House Georgetown,TX. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2017 at Elmwood Funeral Home , 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX. A Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 4, 2017 in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Quincy Adams Roller was born March 29, 1925 at home near Burnettsville, IN to Matilda (Carlson) and Alonzo Roller. He attended grade school near Idaville, IN and high school at Winamac,IN. At 18 yrs, Quincy joined the Army and served during WWII. After returning home at 21, he met Esther Clark. They were married Sept.6, 1946. Quincy earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. Quincy and Esther and their three boys moved to Minneapolis in 1961. Quincy worked twenty plus years at Honeywell in Minneapolis. He enjoyed bowling and fishing. His fried walleye was enjoyed by many. Quincy and Esther retired to Texas in 1985. Quincy enjoyed being involved with the Lions Club in Brackettville, TX. They made him the Lion Of The Year in 1989. On March 27, 1992 Quincy married Sarah Wooten Brunhart in a beautiful ceremony in Hawaii. They spent many years travelling, working on geneology and entertaining family and friends. They celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary just before Sarah passed away in 2016.
Quincy is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilbur, Elmer, Wallace, and Marvin; sisters Ruth and Iona.
He is survived by his sons; Martin(Laura)Roller of Woodbury, MN, Steven(Gail) Roller of Columbia Heights, MN and Jeff(Stephanie) Roller of Georgetown,TX, a sister; Faye Lambert of Atlanta, GA, a brother; George(Sue) Roller of Atlanta,GA; special caregiver/family member Kim(Tony, Antoinette) Brown, six grandchildren; five adult step children; Ken(Mary) McCaskey, Katherine(Rex) Robertson, Carolyn(Ryan) Anderson, Patricia(Steven) Tighe and Leslie Anderson, nine step grandchildren; one step great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
