Randall Randy Scott Castleberry, 53, entered his Saviors arms on December 29th after injuries received in a car accident. His funeral service with Mark Hewitt officiating will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 4th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Randy was born June 15, 1960 in Abilene where he lived most of his life. He attended Cooper High School and later enlisted in the U.S. Marines with his little brother Kevin and best friend James. His career as a mechanic led him to work for several local companies including, National Transmission, Abilene Ag, Abilene State School and Stewart and Stevenson. He was currently employed with Penske, Inc.
Randy was a devoted family man who loved to make people laugh and smile. His family and friends could always count on him and he made sure they were all taken care of. He enjoyed cooking for others, playing and coaching softball, deep sea fishing, hunting, dancing, and spending time as Paw Paw to his 10 grandchilden.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, fun loving personality and willingness to help others in any capacity.
Randy was preceded in death by a son, James Kirk, his wife of 20 years, Dana Meador Castleberry, his mother, Sandra McGough Kelley and his PaPa, D.J. McGough.
Survivors include his wife, Monica of Abilene his children, Stephanie Swiney and husband Billy of Tye, Nick Castleberry and wife Amanda of Abilene, Randa Castleberry of Abilene, Courtney Foley of Abilene, and Emily Steele of Abilene his father, Charles Castleberry of Oil City, Louisiana his brothers, Jeff Castleberry and wife Debbie of Abilene, Kevin Castleberry of Cottonwood, Jody Crafton and wife Leticia of Abilene, Charles Glenn Castleberry of Wichita Falls, and Robert Castleberry of Mansfield his sisters, Tammy Wolford of Abilene, Sherri Ball and husband Hank of Abilene, Tina Wyatt and husband Curtis of Cross Plains, Dana Miller and husband Ron of Abilene, and Jennifer Castleberry Brown of Shreveprot, Louisiana he is also survived by his step siblings, Ray Dukes and Tanya Gannaway of Abilene his Granny, Margaret McGough of Abilene his 10 grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved, and his lifelong friends Danny Miller and James Miller.
Pallbearers for the service are, Danny, James and Steven Miller, Billy Swiney, Mark Admire, Randy Sinsang, Cody Slatton and Ray Dukes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
