Raquel Castillo

Raquel Degollado Castillo, 33, passed away, after fighting a long courageous battle with cancer, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. The rosary will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 9, 2023 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A funeral mass will be 10:00 AM, on Monday, April 10, 2023 at St. Vincent 2525 Westview Drive. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Raquel was born December 13, 1989, in Abilene, Texas to Ramon and Rita Castillo Sr. She graduated from Abilene High School in 2008. Raquel received her associate degree from Texas Tech University. She worked for Hendricks Medical Center as a pharmacy technician. Raquel enjoyed doing crafts, making t shirts, and watching Friends and Grey's Anatomy. Even though Raquel was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers, she was even a bigger fan of her son Adrian. Her life completely revolved around being Adrian's mother. Raquel was a wonderful daughter, mother, wife, sister, and friend. The legacy she leaves behind will be carried on for years to come.
Raquel is survived by her husband Tony Rangel; her son, Adrian Rangel; her parents, Ramon and Rita Castillo Sr.; her brothers, Ramon Castillo Jr., Julio Castillo and wife Estela, and Felix Castillo and wife Kara; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
