Raymond Lee Johnson Jr nicknamed Bubba
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 11:00 am at Texas State Veteran Cemetery 7457 West Lake Road, Abilene, Texas. With Full Military Honors. The Viewing will be prior to the service from 9:30 am - 10:30 am at Elmwood Funeral Home.

Although Bubba was born in Abilene Texas, he moved with the family to Austin, Texas, and stayed there a number of years. As a child Bubba was very inquisitive and liked knowing how things worked. He enjoyed science in grade school and excelled in mathematics. He was a member of the Boy Scouts before moving back to Abilene, Texas. In Junior High School he was a fun loving person, and sometimes played pranks on his friends during their free time, who in turn reciprocated the pranks played on him. While attending Abilene High School, his hobbies involved photography, he played on the football team, and excelled in track & field as a sprinter.
After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force and began his walk with God early in his career at the age of 19. The first 4 years of his military career, he was a member of the Security Police. Bubba finished his remaining 16 years as a High Voltage Electrician. While in the military, Bubba had twin boys Baron and Eugene Johnson. After retiring from the military, Bubba moved back to Texas. Bubba was a great father to his two boys. Always teaching them new life lessons at any given moment. The most important thing he taught them was that you can achieve anything you want if you set your mind to it. Life after the military, his hobbies included creating music and animations. When he passed, he was currently working for the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (formerly known as Carswell Air Force Base) in Fort Worth, Texas for nearly 23 years as a High Voltage Outdoor Electrician.
Bubba is preceded in death by Father Raymond Lee Johnson Sr.; Mother Ruby Jean Parks; Sisters: Deloise Johnson, Sandra Kay Brown, Debra Johnson, and Mary Reece.
He is survived by Daughter LaToya Johnson; Sons: Baron Johnson and Eugene (Selena) Johnson; Granddaughter Camila Johnson; Sisters: Vanessa (Lonnie) Glenn, Linda Johnson, Crystal (Lovie) Brown, Louise Johnson, and JoAnn Cruz; Brothers: Raymond Earnest (Junior) Johnson, James Johnson, and Spencer Brothers. Also surviving are two Aunts: Freddie Mae Parks and Myrtle (Ray) Jackson and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and other family members.
