Reverend Cenciceros

Reverend Samuel Mireles Ceniceros passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, December 15, 2017 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. His funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 16, 2017 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Francois Marcoux officiating. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Samuel was born August 30, 1941 in Durango, Mexico to Josue Ceniceros Torres and Ruth Mireles Gonzalez. He was raised in Torreon, Mexico until he was 17 years old when he became a Foreign Exchange Student and graduated as a Methodist Minister from Lydia Patterson United Methodist Institute in El Paso, Texas. He was a Methodist Minister for the Rio Grande Conference. While in El Paso he married his wife of 20 years, Velia Diaz Ceniceros. He was very loved and will forever be in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Josue and Ruth; and his wife, Velia Diaz Ceniceros.

Samuel is survived by his daughter, Olivia Cruz and her husband Pablo; four grandchildren, Emily Cruz, Evan Cruz, Pablo Miguel Cruz and Esmeralda Cruz; great grandson, Aiden Ryan Montez; and seven siblings, Alpha Mireles Ceniceros, Rebeca Mireles Ceniceros, Josue Mireles Ceniceros, Nephtali Mireles Ceniceros, Dora Graciela Mireles Ceniceros, Nohemi Mireles Ceniceros, and Ariel Mireles Ceniceros.
