Richard Kennedy

Richard Steven Kennedy, 59, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 in Amarillo, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church 2801 Antilley Abilene, TX 79606. The funeral will also be held at Zion at 2PM. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Richard was born March 30, 1959 to the late Richard and Vivian Kennedy in New Mexico. He married his best friend Debbie Cole in 1982. He was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church of Abilene. Richard was a very talented singer and participated in the choir. He worked for Coca Cola for many years retiring in 2001. For the past 5 years Richard worked for Crete Carrier Group, traveling 42 states. During this time, he bought a dash camera, so he could make videos of all the different animals he would see on his travels to show his grandkids. Richard loved hunting and enjoyed loading his shells. Above all he loved spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his son, Steven Kennedy and wife Seara; grandchildren, Rylynn Kennedy, Richard "Trip" Kennedy, Addilyn Kennedy, and one on the way; two brothers, Robert Kennedy and wife Elaine, and Russell Kennedy.

He is also preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Kennedy; his daughter, Tammy Kennedy; and one brother, Ronald Kennedy.
