Richard Wilkinson

Richard Michael Wilkinson, 22, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017. Visitation will be 6:00- 8:00 PM , Monday, October 9, 2017 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.

Richard was born May 19, 1995 in Abilene, Tx. He attended Wylie schools and enjoyed playing football for the Bulldogs. He had a love for life, enjoying dirt bikes, shooting guns, fishing, wakeboarding, video games and a good game of pool. Animals and children were drawn to his sweet spirit. There was always laughs and jokes being told when he was in your presence. He loved cheese pizza, Oreos, and a very rare steak. He was a Denver Broncos fan. He was very proud of his southern heritage and Patriotic. Above all this he loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Baumguardner; two grandmothers, Carol Waters, and Melanie Thrasher; his uncle, Spc. Braden Long; and his best friend, Caleb Davis.

Richard is survived by his mother and stepfather, William and Crystal Long; his father and stepmother, Joshua and Jaclyn; his bonus dad, Donnie Waters Jr.; his siblings, Reagan Waters, Ryleigh Waters, Christopher Smith, Tyler Wilkinson, Trevor Wilkinson, Truett Wilkinson, and Bethany Wilkinson; grandparents, Gary and Brenda Lambert, Donna and Randy Verner, Leroy Wilkinson, Don Waters Sr., Ted Thrasher, and William Long 3rd and wife Sandra; two special friends, Taylor Hankins and Savannah Fox; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
