At 7:18 AM Thursday, February 25, 2016, the Lord completed His band. Rick Blakley, born August 13, 1954 to Don and June Blakley in Gorman, Texas, was an extravagant man. He was an avid musician who helped many others get their start with his own label, Windsong.
In 1972, Rick married Karen McGough, and they became parents to their son, Darion Blakley, in 1976. He worked for Aileens Manufacturing for seven years as well as oilfield work alongside his grandfather, Howard Blakley. He worked for CPI as a leasing manager for three years before starting his own housing contract company, which he continued until his illness made it hard.
An avid fisherman and camper, Rick was known for his practical jokes and laugh, to which many can attest. He was involved with Boy Scouts for many years as an assistant and later a full Scoutmaster. He was loved by all and would help others at any cost and had many friends, too numerous to mention.
Rick was preceded in death by by his father, Don Blakley; grandparents Evelyn and Howard Blakley and Ruby and John Hurley.
