Rita Hill

Rita Diane Hill, 56, of Houston, Texas passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday August 25, 2009. Her memorial service with O.C. Moore officiating will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 29th at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Rita was born to Raye and Betty Hill, August 16, 1953, in Flint, Michigan. Rita graduated from Hamady High School; Flint, Michigan in 1971and received a BS in General Science and BSN in Nursing from Harding University in Arkansas in 1975 1977. Rita lived and worked in Houston, Texas for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Rita began her career in health department and trauma center nursing. Her passion for life and desire to ease the suffering of others made the difference time and time again. She trained other professionals in policies and procedures while advocating for the patient. As a research assistant, she was able to follow patients activities and progress throughout the world. She loved her work and the contribution she made to medical progress. She felt her career improved the quality of life for thousands as she gathered data that resulted in a greater understanding of the mysteries of the human body.

Rita is survived by her parents, Raye and Betty Hill, of Abilene, Texas, her sister, Vickie Hill Cardot and husband, Joe Cardot, of Abilene, Texas, her twin brothers, Marvin Hill, of Abilene, Texas, Melvin Hill and his wife Christy, of Hawaii, her youngest brother, Roy Hill, and his wife Kim, of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
