Robert Ayala, 68, passed away on Sunday April 23, 2023. A visitation will be held 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Funeral Services will follow at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. A memorial mass will be May 2, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 837 Jeanette Abilene, Texas. Burial will be at 11:00 AM May 2, 2023, at Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W Lake Rd, Abilene, Texas.

Robert was born on April 29, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas to his parents Jose Ignacio Ayala and Irene Gonzalez.. He served in the Air Force for 20 years; after retiring he went on to work as a correctional officer. Robert married his wife Ria, who is from the Philippines, in Okinawa, Japan, on March 14, 1989. He was a hardworking man that loved working on his yard and different projects. Robert was a loving, caring, and kind man. He enjoyed watching wrestling, movies, and football, the Dallas Cowboys were his favorite team. Some might say that he was the biggest Dallas Cowboys Fan. Robert was an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend, and he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife, Ria Ayala; daughter, Regina Estrada and husband Alexander; sons, Richard Ayala and wife Catalina, Bobby Ayala and wife Jill, Michael; grandchildren, Emily Ayala, Katelyn Ayala, Robert Michael Ayala, Allie Estrada, Presley Estrada, Leo Estrada, Joshua Ayala, Emery Baca, Abby Vallada, Richie Hansen; great grandchildren,Jose Roberto Pelayo Ayala, Benito Antonio Pelayo Ayala; mother, Irene Gonzalez; sisters, Minerva Zambrano, Norma Jean Garcia; Nieces, Patsy Sanchez, Gen Vallada; mother-in-law, Pascuala Calderon; family residing in Corpus Christi and Philippines.
Robert is preceded in death by father, Jose Ignacio Ayala.
