Robert Burnette

Robert Lee Burnette, 86, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, March 6, 2017 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.

Robert was born July 18, 1930 in Houston, Texas to Harry and Ella Burnette. He faithfully served a 4 year term in the United States Army. Robert had a successful career with Consolidated Freight Ways as a truck driver completing 3 million miles before retiring. After retirement he found a new love for Auctions and started his own buy and sell company. He married the love of his life, Thongsook Burnette on December 21, 1993. He enjoyed bowling and was on a team that competed in several tournaments. He was an avid fisherman and loved his fur babies. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ella Burnette; an older brother; and his fur babies, Tiger, Georgia and J.R.

He is survived by his wife, Thongsook Burnette; his stepson, Mason Garza and wife, Clara; his grandsons, Nathan and Liam Garza; and his fur babies, Spot and Becky.
