Robert "Chano" Flores, 68, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, in Abilene, Texas. A service in his memory will be held at a later date.
Born on February 7, 1957, in Abilene, Texas, Chano was the son of Demetrio and Elvira Flores. He dedicated many years of service to the Abilene Independent School District, where he was known for his strong work ethic and his deep appreciation for the work, he did there.
Chano had a passion for football, and whether he was watching a game, listening to music,or spending time with family, he was always surrounded by good company and great food. His infectious sense of humor brought laughter to those around him, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did. He was a cherished brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Demetrio and Elvira Flores; six siblings, Demetrio Flores Jr., Eliseo Flores, Adriel Flores, Joel Flores, Alejandra Lyons, and Eunice Sotelo.
Chano is survived by three siblings, Isaac Flores and wife Dorothy, Ester Terrell and husband Ralph, and Anita Alcorta and husband Sammy; and several niece, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Chano will be remembered for his kind heart, his loyalty, and the joy he brought into the lives of others. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Rest in peace, Chano. Your memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved you.
