Robert Foy

MSGT Robert Lee Foy USAF retired, 51, died Friday, September 7, 2007 at his home in Merkel. BRBRHis funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12th at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park. A reception will be held at the VFW Post 6873 immediately following the service. BRBRViewing and visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. BRBRMr. Foy was born on September 24, 1955 in Mineral Wells. He lived in various places growing up as his dad traveled with the US Army. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1974 and retired in 1996 after 22 years of service. After retirement he worked as an aircraft mechanic for Leir Seigler Inc and worked part time at the VFW Post 6873. Lee was very active with the VFW and in recent years took great joy in being a part of the VFW Motorcycle Group. When someone was in need Lee could always be counted on to lend a helping hand whether it be volunteering at the Jerry Lewis Telethon or helping with the VFW trash pick up. He was always a joker and labeled everyone close to him with their own nick name.BRBRSurvivors include his wife of 23 years, Fran Jeffers Foy of Merkel; his parents, Bob and Katherine Foy of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; three sons, Bill MacIntyre and wife Annette of San Antonio, Robert MacIntyre and wife Sylvia of Carrolton, Richard MacIntyre of San Antonio; one daughter, Felicia Soliz and husband Jason of Abilene; one sister, Annette Berrey of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; one brother, Allen Foy of Atlantic Beach, Florida; 13 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, his puppy, Baby and a host of friends. BRBRLee was unable to volunteer at the Jerry Lewis Telethon this year so in lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations are made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, P.O. Box JERRY, Phoenix, AZ 85062-1111.BR
