Robert Bob D. Kiser, 84 of Ft Worth, formerly of Abilene and Sand Springs, TX
died Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Ft. Worth.
Bob will lay in state at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. Hwy 277 S., Abilene, TX, from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 1, at 10:00 a.m. at the Coahoma Church of Christ with Bennie Whitehead, officiating, directed by The Elmwood Funeral Home, Abilene, TX. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring, TX. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 30th at Coahoma Church of Christ.
Bob was born to the late Chester and Iva Hale Kiser on October 4, 1929 in Mitchell County, Texas. He graduated from Coahoma High School in 1947 and studied at Abilene Christian College. In 1948 he went to work at Cosden Oil and Chemical Company serving as Supervisor of the inspection department. Robert Bob married Geneva Turner on March 24, 1949 in Big Spring, TX. During his tenure at Cosden he was serving as the minister of Sand Springs Church of Christ. In 1975 he retired from Cosden to focus his time and attention to full time ministry and Gospel preaching. He served as full time minister at churches of Christ in Grapevine, TX, Ft Worth, TX, Mountain Home, Arkansas and Stephenville, TX. Bob was blessed with 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Geneva Kiser of Ft. Worth four children, Sandra Kiser of Abilene, Terry Kiser and wife Donna of Ft Worth, Karen Knight and husband Gregg of Pottsboro, and Kyle Kiser and wife Denise of Ft Worth grandchildren Joshua, Sarah, Jessie, Landon, Megan, Charles, Cody, Kyla and Kari great grandchildren Jonas, Buttercup, Frankie, Hunter, Haiden, Ryan, Chloe, Charlie Claire, Emma and Maggie three sisters, Pat Allen, Mary Anderson and Judy Pherigo, all of Coahoma numerous nieces and nephews.
