Robert W. "Robby" White, Jr., beloved son, brother and friend, journeyed home unexpectedly Thursday, June 23, 2016, at the age of 51. Born July 22, 1964 to CMSgt Robert W. "Bob" White, Sr. and Martha Ann White at Ellsworth AFB, Rapid City, South Dakota, Robby has called Abilene home for almost 40 years, He was a graduate of Cooper High School, class of 1982 and attended West Texas A&M University. Robby co-managed his family's business, JJ's Moving & Storage, with his sister, since 1989 and was owner/operator of B-Robs Pro Shop here in Abilene.
Robby's life motto, "Live every day like it's your last", rang true through a great passion for bowling, riding his Harley, his family and friends and a love for animals. He was an incredible man of honor and integrity with a big heart and contagious smile. Robby never met a stranger along his pathway in life and was always willing to help a friend any way possible, he enjoyed making others laugh and smile. His laid back, fun nature and giving spirit has him loved and mourned by many.
Following in his father's footsteps, Robby became an accomplished and well known bowler in the community with a competitive spirit and his own unconventional style, bowling left handed as a right handed man. He was inducted into the Abilene Bowling Association and Greater Abilene Texas United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame in 2004-2005 and served as a director as well. Robby was named "Bowler of the Year" in 2007, 2008, and 2009. Since 1998, the year USBC began keeping records of all honor scores bowled, Robby has thirty-one recorded honor scores including eleven perfect games, fourteen near perfect "11-in-a-row" games, six 800 series and a high average of 235. Participating in countless tournaments across the nation, including PBA, SASBA, state and local tournaments, Robby has gained much respect from his peers for the many accomplishments and awards he has received through the years. As a mentor and friend to many bowlers of all ages, giving pointers and lessons in the sport of bowling, the lanes will truly never be the same without this outstanding bowler and man.
Robby is survived by his beloved mother, Martha White, sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Ray Guerrero, nephews Len Testa, and Richard Guerrero, great-niece Sophie Testa, great-nephew, Jesie Guerrero, daughter-in-heart Adasyn Piearcy, all of Abilene and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved "fur babies" Zana, Zeke, Robbee, and Whiskey, which were always an important part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Frankie Skillman and Robert and Eula White, his beloved father and his hero, Bob White, great - nephew, Richard Jace Guerrero and his beloved "fur babies" Zack, Zoe, and Zola.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 3 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South with graveside services following at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 6 - 8 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home.
In honor of Robby and the great man he was, the family is welcoming any that attend to wear Harley attire, bowling attire, and/or NHL Dallas Stars attire as a tribute to him.
Rest in peace sweet Robby, you are greatly loved by many and deeply missed as it is truly our loss and Heaven's gain.
